Progress on the redevelopment of Orchard Park has continued steadily throughout the summer. Visitor statistics from the Request for Proposals (RFP) website indicates a strong and continued interest in the redevelopment of Orchard Park by many individuals across campus, the city, and the state of California.

After the public release of the RFP in May of this year, interested developers engaged in an information-gathering process with the RFP committee. This committee, comprised of campus stakeholders including current UC Davis graduate students and representatives from Graduate Studies, Housing and Dining Services, Real Estate Services, Campus Planning, and Design and Construction Management, has combined comments from the public with their own expertise to guide prospective developers in the creation of their site plans.

Following this period of conversation and exchange, the developers will submit their final proposals to campus this week. The RFP committee plans to review the submitted proposals and conduct interviews over the course of the next month; they expect to announce their final selection before the start of the fall quarter. The timeliness of this process ensures that the redevelopment project remains on-track for design, construction, and occupancy by fall quarter of 2020.
